TENNESSEE

Andrew Johnson NHS
Greenville, TN

This site is in downtown Greeneville, in northeastern Tennessee.  The stamp is kept in the Visitor Center and Tailor Shop, on the northwest corner of Depot and College Streets.

Big South Fork NRRA
Oneida, TN

The Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area stretches across Tennessee and Kentucky.  There are two stamps.  This one is at the Visitor Information Center at Bandy Creek, deep in the park.  Follow route 297 about 15 miles west out of Oneida.  You can get the stamp at any hour of the day, as it is kept in the wooden box just outside the visitor center door.

Chickamauga and Chattanooga NMP - Lookout Mountain
Lookout Mountain, TN

This National Military Park has two sites, one at Fort Oglethorpe in Chickamauga, Georgia, and this one at Lookout Mountain in Tennessee.  The stamp is at the Point Park Visitor Center, on the very top of Lookout Mountain.

Fort Donelson NB
Dover, TN

The park is one mile west of Dover, along US-79.  The stamp is right inside the visitor center, just near the park entrance.

Great Smoky Montains NP
Cades Cove, TN

The Cades Cove Visitor Center lies near the mid-point of the 11-mile, one-way Cades Cove Loop Road.  Be forewarned that the road is a single lane path, with no shoulder, and it may take up to three hours to drive the loop.  If you are in a hurry do not even attempt it.  The NPS stamp just reads Tennessee and they have a separate "Cades Cove" stamp to press over the NPS stamp.   Kind of bogus, in my opinion.

Great Smoky Montains NP
Gatlinburg, TN

This stamp can be found at the Sugarlands Visitor Center, 2 miles south of Gatlinburg on US-441.  Just ask for it at the information desk.

Natchez Trace Parkway - Meriwether Lewis
Hohenwald, TN

Near milepost 386, just about five miles east of Hohenwald, you'll find the Meriwether Lewis Ranger Station. Finding someone in it, however, can be somewhat of a challenge.  The phone number is 931-796-2675.  This site contains the grave of Meriwether Lewis, of Lewis and Clark.

Obed WSR
Wartburg, TN

The Obed Wild and Scenic River Visitor Center is located at 208 Maiden Lane in Wartburg.  The stamp is outside the door 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Shiloh NMP
Shiloh, TN

Route 24 leads to Pittsburgh Landing Road, and the park entrance.  Go to the Grant Bookstore, between the Visitor Center and the Cemetery  to get the stamp.

Stones River NB
Murfreesboro, TN

Signage leading to the visitor center is kind of sketchy.  From I-24, take exit 78 and head east on Old Fort Parkway.  Then make the first left, turning north on Thompson Lane, and follow it for almost 2 miles. Take the ramp down to the Old Nashville Highway, and head northwest.  The visitor center will be on the left, across from the cemetery.
