Appomattox Court House NHP
Appomattox, VA

The park is on route 24, a few miles northeast of Appomattox.  The stamp is kept in the bookstore, in the old Clover Hill Tavern building.  You have to ask the cashier for it.

Arlington House, The Robert E. Lee Memorial
Arlington, VA

Start by parking in the Arlington National Cemetery parking lot.  This will cost $1.25.  Then start walking uphill for about ten minutes to the highest point of the cemetery grounds where the house stands.  The ranger keeps the stamp just inside the entrance.  A slightly different stamp is located inside the cemetery's main visitor center. See below.

Arlington House
Arlington, VA

This stamp, along with four others, is kept in the Arlington Cemetery Visitor Center Bookstore.  It's just a few steps from the parking lot.

Assateague Island NS
Chincoteaque, VA

The Assateague Island National Seashore has two visitor centers: one in Maryland and the Toms Cove Visitor Center in Virginia.  From US-13, take route 175 west past the NASA Wallops Flight Facility.  Cross the bridge into Chincoteague and turn left on Main Street.  Take a right on Maddox Blvd, and then follow Beach Road to the end.  The stamp is at the right end of the information desk.

Blue Ridge Parkway
Peaks of Otter, VA

The 469 mile parkway has 11 visitor centers, all of which should have this stamp.  I got it at Peaks of Otter, near Milepost 86.

Booker T. Washington NM
Hardy, VA

The site is off route 122, between the towns of Burnt Chimney and Moneta.  The stamp is at the information desk of the visitor center.

Cape Henry Memorial
Fort Story, VA

The memorial is located within the grounds of the Fort Story Military Reservation, in the  northeast part of Virginia Beach.  Follow US-60 to the Fort entrance, and look for Cape Henry Road.  The memorial is along the water, near the lighthouse.  This stamp is kept in the old lighthouse bookstore.

Yorktown, VA

The memorial is actually nowhere near Yorktown, but this stamp is at the Yorktown VC.

Claude Moore Colonial Farm
McLean, VA

Take the Georgetown Pike (route 193) to Colonial Farm Road.  Follow the road north until you see the park sign on the left.  Park in this dirt parking lot.  Follow the dirt path about 1/4 mile, past the tobacco shed,  to the end.  You'll see a small, one room, wooden building with a chimney.  This is the Farm House.  The stamp is kept by a park employee inside.

Colonial NHP - Jamestown
Jamestown, VA

This park has a couple units.  This one is at the western end of the Colonial Parkway.  The stamp is in the visitor center, a few steps from the parking lot.

Colonial NHP - Yorktown
Yorktown, VA

They have two stamps at the Yorktown visitor center, this one and the Cape Henry Memorial stamp.  You have to ask for them.  The Yorktown stamp is at the information desk, and the Cape Henry stamp is in the bookstore.

Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania NMP
Chancellorsville, VA

This park has three stamps, one in Fredericksburg, one in Guinea, and this one in Chancellorsville.  This stamp is located in the visitor center, at the cashier's desk in the bookstore.  To get here take exit 130 off I-95 and drive west on Route 3 for about 8 miles.

Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania NMP
Fredericksburg, VA

This park has three stamps, one in Chancellorsville, one in Guinea, and this one in Fredericksburg.  This stamp is located in the bookstore, which in adjacent to the parking lot, behind the visitor center. To get here take exit 130 off I-95 and drive east on Route 3.  Turn left on Lafayette Blvd.

Fredericksburg NMP - Jackson Shrine
Guinea, VA

A separate unit of the Fredericksburg National Military Park, the Jackson Shrine is just a short drive south of Fredericksburg.  Take exit 118 from I-95 and follow route 606 east for 4.8 miles.  The entrance is just over the train tracks, on the left.  The stamp is kept by the ranger inside the house. Check hours and days as they are limited. 

George Washington Birthplace NM
Washington's Birthplace, VA

The site is about 16 miles from the intersection of US-301 and Route 3.  Drive east on 3 and turn left up Popes Creek Road (Route 204).  The stamp is kept at the information desk in the visitor center.

George Washington Memorial Parkway
McLean, VA

This Parkway stretches along the Potomac from Mount Vernon to Great Falls.  This stamp is at the GWMP Headquarters in Turkey Run Park, which has three other stamps and a wealth of information about the parks in the Capital Region.  Take the GWMP from exit 14 of I-495 and turn left into the headquarters parking lot about 2 miles south.  An identical stamp is located inside the Arlington National Cemetery Visitor Center Bookstore.

Great Falls Park
Great Falls, VA

This park is part of the George Washington Memorial Parkway.  Take Route 193 North (Georgetown Pike) from exit 13 on I-495.  Turn left into the park at Old Dominion Drive.  The visitor center is about a mile down the road and the stamp is at the information desk.

Green Springs NHL District
Louisa County, VA

This one was very hard to find.  You must go to the Simmons Gap Ranger Station, located near mile marker 74 on Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park.  There you must seek out Ranger Rick Childs who is in charge of the district and is the keeper of the stamp.  Call 804-985-7293, extension 301, to find when Ranger Childs will be there.

Maggie L. Walker NHS
Richmond, VA

Located in downtown Richmond, this site is at 110 1/2 E. Leigh Street.  The visitor center is around the corner at 600 North 2nd Street.  The stamp is kept by the ranger inside.

Manassas NBP
Manassas, VA

The stamp is in the bookstore at the back of the visitor center which is 1 mile north of I-66 on Route 234.

Marine Corps Memorial / Netherlands Carillon
Arlington, VA

These two monuments are just north of Arlington National Cemetery.  The stamp is at the GWMP Headquarters in Turkey Run Park, which has three other stamps and a wealth of information about the parks in the Capital Region.  Take the GWMP from exit 14 of I-495 and turn left into the headquarters parking lot about 2 miles south.

Marine Corps Memorial
Arlington, VA

A slightly different stamp for the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial, this one is located at the Arlington National Cemetery Bookstore.

Petersburg NB
Petersburg, VA

Petersburg National Battlefield has three different sites. and three different stamps.  This stamp can be found at the visitor center of the main site, located on route 36, a few miles east of downtown Petersburg.  If you have the time, listen to the ranger's tour at The Crater.

Petersburg NB - City Point
City Point, VA

City Point is located along the banks of the James River, northeast of Hopewell.  This stamp is kept in Appomattox Manor, the Eppes Family home. Ask the ranger for it.  There is a parking lot at the corner of Cedar Lane and Pecan Avenue, just in front of the house.

Petersburg NB - Five Forks
Five Forks, VA

Five Forks is located at the intersection of White Oak Road (route 613), Courthouse Road (route 627), and Wheeler's Pond Road.  There is a small ranger station, and the stamp is kept inside.

Prince William Forest Park
Triangle, VA

Take exit 150 off I-95 and turn west on Route 619.  There is 15 minute parking right in front of the visitor center and the stamp is inside.  Ask the ranger for it

Red Hill Patrick Henry N MEM
Brookneal, VA

This Affiliated Area is kind of in the middle of nowhere.  From Brookneal, follow route 40 east and then turn on route 600.  Continue east and follow the signs onto route 619.  The signs will lead you to the end of the road and the site.

Richmond NBP - Cold Harbor
Cold Harbor, VA

The Richmond site has a number of different stamps, at different locations.  Cold Harbor is along route 156.  Take exit 34 from I-295 and head northeast onto route 615.  Turn right about one mile later onto Cold Harbor Road which is route 156.  The visitor center is about 2 miles further, on the left.

Richmond NBP - Chimborazo
Richmond, VA

The site of the Chimbarazo Hospital is located at 3215 Broad Street (US-60) in downtown Richmond.  Ask for this stamp at the information desk.  The stamp shown on top was replaced with the stamp on the bottom.






Richmond NBP - Tredegar Ironworks
Richmond, VA

A new visitor center was opened in June of 2000 on the site of the Tredegar Ironworks, along the James River in downtown Richmond.  Take 7th Street South which turns into Tredegar Street.  Continue west until you see the complex on your right.  You'll find this stamp in the bookstore.

Shenandoah NP
Luray, VA

This stamp can be found at the Harry F. Byrd Visitor Center, milepost 51 on Skyline Drive.  The speed limit is 35 MPH for the entire length of the drive.

Theodore Roosevelt Island
Arlington, VA

This stamp is kept (with four others) at the bookstore in the Arlington National Cemetery Visitor Center.  There is also a different stamp at the GWMP Headquarters.

Wolf Trap Farm Park
Vienna, VA

Wolf Trap Farm Park for the Performing Arts is located just north of route 267, the Dulles Toll Road.  Pay the toll and exit at the Wolf Trap ramp. The stamp is kept by a ranger inside the contact station.

Women in Military Service for America Memorial
Arlington, VA

This memorial is located at the Ceremonial Entrance to Arlington National Cemetery, at the western end of Memorial Drive.  Park in the Arlington National Cemetery parking lot and walk over.  Inside the memorial is a bookstore.  Ask for the stamp there.
