Stock Exchange. Parking is non-existent, so you might want
to walk from the excellent Battery Place motorcycle parking
area. The site is not open on the weekend! |
Fire

I
got this stamp at the Fire Island Wilderness Visitor Center
which is located at the end of Route 46, on the eastern tip of
the island. Fire Island is 32 miles long and has only two
drivable access points, one here at Smith Point and the other at
the western end near the lighthouse and Robert Moses State Park. |

This
is a slightly different stamp which lives at the Fire Island
Lighthouse Visitor Center. Take the Sagtikos State Parkway
south across the Robert Moses Causeway and follow the signs
towards the lighthouse and parking lot 5. Park at the
eastern end of the lot and walk the 1/2 mile nature boardwalk
towards the lighthouse. The stamp is in the bookstore,
next to the cash register. |

is plenty of parking around this monument, but the entrance is
on the southern end, and you may end up taking a long walk
around the moat, like I did. The stamp is in the
bookstore, located on the left when you enter the fort. |

The
Gateway National Recreation Area has at least 7 stamps: 1 in New
Jersey, and 7 in New York. This one is part of the Jamaica
Bay Unit and is on Rockaway Point. Take the Belt Parkway
to exit 11S, and drive south on Marine Parkway. Cross the
toll Bridge, bear right, and then make the first left, following
the Fort Tilden signs. The visitor center is the two story
brick building across the soccer field. Parking is right in
front, and the ranger has the stamp at the information desk. |

Gateway National Recreation Area has at least 7 stamps: 1 in New
Jersey, and 7 in New York. I found this one in the visitor
contact station at the entrance to Floyd Bennett Field.
Take the Belt Parkway to exit 11S and turn south on Marine
Parkway. Turn left into the park just before the toll
bridge. The contact station is the first building on the
right. If you don't find anyone there, go to the
Ryan Visitor Center. |

Take the Bay Street exit off the Staten Island Expressway and
follow sign to Fort Washington. The stamp is at the
information desk at the visitor center, open Wednesday through
Sunday. |

Street. Turn south into the park where you'll sign the big
NPS sign. Follow the road to the Ranger Station and you'll find

Jersey, and 7 in New York. This unit is along the south
shore of Staten Island, between Great Kills and Fort Wadsworth.
Take Hylan Boulevard and turn south on New Dorp Road.
Follow it to the end and turn left into Miller Field. The
road winds around to the Ranger Station where the stamp is kept. |

Julia. Located on Riverside Drve at 122nd Street, there is
plenty of motorcycle parking. The stamp is just inside the
monument, on the left when you enter. |

Avenue, between 141st and 142nd Streets. Not exactly the
neighborhood that Hamilton remembers. The stamp is at the
information desk. Motorcycle parking on the street, but

site is off of US-4, overlooking the Hudson River, about 6 miles
north of Stillwater. The stamp is located in the visitor
center, near the cash register. There is a nice road which winds
through the battlefield sites. |

entrance on the left. This site is located at 28 East 20th
Street, and motorcycle parking may be difficult. The site is
only open weekdays when the street is a commercial loading zone.
You might try using the sidewalk. |
